Getting Involved at GHS
Getting involved in high school clubs and activities can offer numerous benefits for students. Here are some of the advantages:
- Personal Development: Participating in clubs and activities allows students to explore their interests, passions, and talents. It provides opportunities for self-discovery, self-expression, and personal growth.
- Skill Development: Clubs and activities often focus on specific skills or areas of interest, providing students with a chance to develop and enhance their abilities. This could include leadership skills, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, time management, and organization.
- Social Connections: Joining clubs and activities helps students meet like-minded peers who share similar interests. It offers a chance to make new friends, develop relationships, and create a sense of belonging within the school community.

FBLA
Future Business Leaders of AmericaFBLA is the largest business organization for middle, high school, and college students. The goal of FBLA is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders.
Membership:

- $10 yearly dues

- Every other Thursday during WIN

What We Do:
- Assist with GHS events and activities
- Attend FBLA district-wide events
FCCLA
Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace.
Membership:
Eligibility: Must be enrolled in or have previously taken a Family and Consumer Sciences class.
Dues: $13 (Pays for state, regional, and national membership.)

National Honor Society
William G McCrary Chapter
NHS student membership is a true mark of academic achievement. Yet, it goes far beyond a report card. All student members must also reflect the program’s respective pillars to be inducted—ideals such as scholarship, service, leadership, and character—and they must continue demonstrating these pillars within their community throughout their membership.
Becoming a Member:
- Junior or Senior at Grandview High School
- GPA needs to be a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
Students who are eligible for National Honor Society will receive a letter to inform them that they have the opportunity to apply for membership. Then, students will be selected by the Faculty Council for membership. An induction ceremony will follow the selection process to extend full membership.

Dates: Second Wednesday of every month
Time: Immediately after school (2:40pm)
Where: Room 404
Activities:
- Donations collection for school, district, and community
- Participation in events - Harvesters, Raytown Road cleanup, etc.
Maintaining Eligibility as an Active Member:
- GPA - Must maintain a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale
- Must participate in at least 50% of all activities and meetings
- Must not have any flagrant violations of the NHS or school policies
Requirements to earn a Gold Seal on your diploma:
- Maintain active member status
- Must attend 75% of meetings
- Must participate in 75% of activities/donations
- Must participate 100% in all fundraisers
Math Team
DataViz Math Team
The Math Team allows you to develop and maintain your math skills, while competing against others in the Metro area. The Math Club will be participating in the Math relays, escape rooms, amazing races and computational thinking with PrepKC which involves competing with other schools in the Metro area.

Why Join?
Grandview High School has as strong a group of math students as any in the Kansas City Metro., and many students who will work and/or major in computing, math, or engineering. This experience will give you the opportunity to explore the world of competing in mathematics. Math Team can also help develop your skills so that you can include college dual-credit courses in your junior and/or senior schedule. You can also win a scholarship to college, and recognition in the form of medals, trophies, and much more.

FIRST Robotics Program:
FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. It designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.
GHS seniors that graduated often come back and serve as mentors to students.

Student Ambassadors
The program is designed to provide students with opportunities to practice and promote democracy within our school. Student ambassadors are empowered and inspired through extending choice, voice, and a platform to initiate change within our school and foster a positive school culture and climate.
Membership:
- We are looking for dedicated school leaders who have a passion to improve our school and are interested in creating and organizing school events to increase school spirit, participation, and inclusion of all students.

What We Do:
- Student Ambassadors will be designing and hosting numerous school events and initiatives throughout the year. (e.g.: GHS STARs)

Student Council
A Student Council is a group of elected and volunteer students working together with an adult advisor to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities.
Through projects and activities, student councils work to:
