School Leadership

 

Dr. Smith was previously the principal of Grandview Middle School where he has served for four years. Under Dr. Smith's leadership, Grandview Middle School was the March spotlight school in the Missouri PTA Newsletter for its work in community & student engagement despite the pandemic. In addition, Dr. Smith was also awarded the 2022-2023 Greater Kansas City Middle School Principal of the Year. 

 

Dr. Smith earned his Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University in May 2019. Before being named Grandview Middle School principal, Dr. Smith served as an assistant principal, instructional coach, and math teacher in Kansas, Ohio, and Nebraska.  Dr. Smith has a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Math Education, two Master's from the University of Nebraska, and an Education Specialist Degree from Saint Louis University.
