In their last year of accepting high school entries, Grandview High School was recognized by Creative Communication as receiving a "Writing Achievement Award" - given to a small percentage of high schools in the nation who have over 50% of their entries accepted for publication. Twenty-two schools received this recognition from across the United States and Canada. We were only one of two Missouri high schools named. Sixty-two of our students' essays were chosen for publication. Only one other school (In Wisconsin) had more student entries published, with 64 to be exact.
The Fall 2016 essay topic was entitled, “Celebrating What’s Important to Me”. We are proud of our seniors!!!
