NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

-Thanks to everyone who came out to support the band for SWEET HOT JAZZ! It was a great event!

-The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team will be traveling to Sedalia Tuesday night as they continue their run to State!

-Please talk with your 9-11 graders about next year’s schedule selection. We will be working on finalizing the Master Schedule for 2017-2018 soon based on next year’s requests.

-We completed a school wide search last week-we would like to thank the students for their cooperation with our safety measures.

-We love our GHS students J

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Cinderella’s Closet in KCMO is offering FREE prom dresses! Visit them on Thursday, March 16th from 4-7pm or Saturday, March 18th from 10am-3pm. Select from dozens of dresses in a wide range of sizes. Come early for the best selection!

Any student interested in a career in Hospitality and Tourism Management needs to see Mr. Morris in the counseling center. This is a new program offered by Summit Tech Academy and they are looking for students to fill positions for the 2017-2018 school year. Students will have the opportunity to earn a very lucrative salary and qualify for management positions after participating in this program.

Any GHS senior planning on accessing A+ Scholarship Funding should be completing their FAFSA application as soon as possible. This can be done at FAFSA.gov. All eligible candidates must have their 50 hours of required school service and designated packet on file with the A+ office no later than April 1st, 2017. See Mr. Kennedy if you need assistance completing these required tasks.

Omicron Xi Lambda Foundation 2017 Brandon C. Fauntleroy-McDowel Scholarship – This $1,000 scholarship is open to graduating high school male seniors in Grandview or the Kansas City metropolitan area. The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The application deadline is March 10, 2017. The application is available in the counseling center.
