Principal Advisory Council

Introduction: The Principal Advisory Council is a student and administrative group that meets monthly. Students have a voice in sharing their feedback and ideas around GHS mission and focus. Members are students from each grade who reflect the diversity of the GHS student population.

What is the structure of the Principal Advisory Council? The Principal’s Student advisory Council is composed of students from each grade, who serve on the advisory council for the current school year.

What is the process for students interested in serving on the Principal Advisory Council? Interested students must complete an application. Application deadline is Friday, October 14, 2022.

How are members chosen to serve? The GHS Leadership Team will process each application and make a recommendation.

When will the Principal Advisory Council meetings be held? Meetings will be held at 1:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • November 2
  • December 7
  • January 4
  • February 1
  • March 1
  • April 5
  • May 3

What will be expected of the Principal Advisory Council? Advisory members will be expected to: Attend all scheduled meetings. Prepare for each meeting as needed. Work in a collaborative manner with each other and with school staff as needed. Express your views and opinions openly, constructively, and respectfully. Although the principal will develop an agenda for each meeting, students may submit discussion items for consideration to Ms. Thelin, Administrative Assistant to the Interim Principal.
