Bio

Charles Jakes is in his twenty-third year of teaching instrumental music at the middle and high school levels in Missouri.  He taught in the Hickman Mills C-1 School District his first year of teaching 1999-2000.  From 2000-present he has taught in the Grandview C-4 School District.  Mr. Jakes received his BME in 1999 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  He received his MSE from the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg in 2005 and his Education Specialist in Secondary Administration in 2014.

Mr. Jakes directs the Grandview High School Symphonic Band, Concert Band, High School Jazz Orchestra, high school jazz combo, the Grandview Blue & Gold Brigade Marching Band and assists at Grandview Middle School.
