About Me

I studied English Literature at Northwestern University and earned my M.Ed. at the University of Virginia in Secondary English Education. I earned a TESOL Certificate and taught ESL in Hungary for 11 years.  In the U.S., I have taught grades 8-12, adult ESL students, high school ELL students, and I have tutored individuals extensively. Additionally, I have been an online writing coach. With over 26 years of teaching experience, my goal is to empower students to become life-long learners and pursue their individual dreams.

I am happily married to my amazing husband, Paul, and we have lived in Kansas City for the past 11 years!  I am originally from Colorado.  I love to hike, bike, swim, play the guitar, sing, garden, and travel!  We have a new addition to our family, a puppy named Rapha!
