NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

-It is hard to believe it is almost February! Students are working in advisory on next year’s class schedule.  More information will be coming concerning parent meeting nights.

-Thank you to all who attended the Principal Parent Advisory Meeting last week.  The questions and comments are being compiled and also translated into Spanish.  They should be ready to send in the next few days.  Conversations will continue to be ongoing as we work together for our students.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Any GHS senior planning on accessing A+ Scholarship Funding should be completing their FAFSA application as soon as possible. This can be done at FAFSA.gov. All eligible candidates must have their 50 hours of required school service and designated packet on file with the A+ office no later than April 1st, 2017. See Mr. Kennedy if you need assistance completing these required tasks.

Midwest Pool Management will be in the lunchroom on Thursday, February 9th. Stop by their table to learn more about employment opportunities at Bay Water Park.

Don’t miss your chance to reserve your copy of the 2016-2017 GHS yearbook. Reserve yours today by seeing Ms. Kurtz in the office or by visiting lifetouch.com. Extra copies of the book will not be ordered, so if you want one reserve your copy now! Books will only be on sale until February 2nd. Books are $50, or for an additional $5 you can add your name to the cover.

Frontier Bag, a plastic bag manufacturer, is hiring production line workers for their warehouse on 150 Hwy. Stop by the counseling office for a flyer.

Omicron Xi Lambda Foundation 2017 Brandon C. Fauntleroy-McDowel Scholarship – This $1,000 scholarship is open to graduating high school male seniors in Grandview or the Kansas City metropolitan area. The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The application deadline is March 10, 2017. The application is available in the counseling center.
