New Head Boys' Basketball Coach Selected

The Grandview C-4 School District is pleased to announce that Prentes Potts has accepted the position of Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Grandview Senior High School. Potts is a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School where he was a standout basketball and football athlete. Upon graduating high school, he signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Creighton University. Potts later played at Kansas City, Kansas Community College and Southwest Baptist University. Potts also served 10 years in the United States Army and deployed to Kuwait and Afghanistan during that time. 

Potts brings more than 10 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels with stints as a head coach at Leavenworth High School, Schlagle High School, and Turner High School. Potts is currently the Associate Head Coach at Avila University. While at Schlagle High School, Potts led his team to the Kansas Class 5A State Tournament twice, finishing in second place in 2017.

Potts is currently a high school business teacher at Olathe South High School. He has a Master’s Degree in Education, a Master’s of Business Administration, and building leadership certification. Potts lives in the Kansas City area with his wife and two children.
