End of Year Information from Dr. Price

Hello GHS Families-  hope this finds you safe and well!

We have almost made it through the school year, Covid-19 version!    We are so proud of the hard work, partnerships, grace, kindness, and strong relationships from families and staff!   GHS (students, parents/guardians, community members, staff-) you truly are a remarkable community! I have been blessed to be a part of it!

I wanted to thank the students who helped us celebrate Staff Appreciation Week by sending in videos/shout outs for staff members!  They were very touched! I would also like to thank our Caring for Kids group for their help in recognizing the GHS staff.  Through their partnership we were able to provide staff yard signs (A Grandview C4 Hero lives here!!).  Because of Caring for Kids, we received a substantial donation from Bank of Blue Valley to purchase the signs, and our local UPS store made them in quick order!

We have included information below regarding end of year items- please continue to reach out with questions or concerns!

1. GRADES: We are using the "hold harmless" approach.  Students will receive the highest grade from either Spring Break, April 17, or May 21.  Although teachers will put a zero in the grade book if work is not submitted and the grade will appear to decline- the HIGHEST grade will be put on the semester grade card.  Having said that,  we would like students to continue working to build knowledge and skill for next year!

2. HONORS NIGHT: Our students ROCK!  We will be recognizing students virtually this year!  We will send a youtube link prior to the original airing on May 14th.  The virtual presentation will then be available afterwards for viewing as well.

3.  ENROLLMENT: This process has begun.  Please check your email for important instructions and documents.  Counselors and Assistant Principals have been reaching out individually (often times by a google voice number you may not recognize!).  They are working with current 10th and 11th graders.  Feel free to reach out to either the counselors or Assistant Principals for assistance!

4. SUMMER SCHOOL: There will be summer school for high schools students, but it may occur later in June or into July.  The district will follow state and local guidelines, but there may be options for face to face classes as well as virtual.  More information will be coming.

5. SENIOR CHECK OUT: Seniors will be doing a curbside dropping off/picking up items next week on MAY 12 and MAY 13 from 8:30-4:30. .  Mr. Fields will be sending an email to sign up for a block of time, and we have attached a flyer with important details!  We will be following social distancing guidelines, so please do not pile as many seniors as you can get into one car :)

6. GRADES 9-11 CHECK OUT: This will begin the week of May 18th.  We will send specific details after we evaluate the process with seniors!

7.  FINES/FEES: These can be paid through the portal at  Paying online will make checkout more efficient; however, if needed, check or cash payments can be taken during check out.

8. YEARBOOKS:  The high school sale is June 15 - June 30 with a delivery date of July.  We will send the ordering information closer to that date.

9. GRADUATION: We LOVE you Class of 2020! We have a couple more things in the works to recognize you! Information on Graduation Plans should be available next week!
