Bio for Stephen Mathews

This is my second year teaching 9th grade English Language Arts at Grandview High School. Prior to teaching at Grandview High, I taught college-level writing at Missouri State University for three years. 

 

I received my bachelor's degree in English Literature from Missouri State University in 2014 and my master's degree in English (emphasis in Literature) from Missouri State University in 2020. In 2022, I completed a post-baccalaureate program at Missouri State University which granted me a 9-12 English teaching certification. 

 

I currently live in Independence, MO with my wife and two cats (named Atticus and Shaw). I enjoy reading, watching my favorite shows, spending time outside, and playing/writing music with my friends.
