NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

-We will be using the four block only  schedule for the remainder of the year (A1/B2:  7:35-9:05

A3/B4:    9:10-10:40     A5/B6:  10:45-12:50     A7/ B8:  12:55-2:25  Lunch shifts: 10:40, 11:15, 11:50, 12:25)

-Names of seniors who are failing a class will be given to the counseling office Monday morning at 7:35 am.  This list is used to determine the program for Commencement candidates

-After May 1st seniors will not be able to charge anything to their lunch account. This way the office will be able to give students/parents the exact amount owed. If for some reason seniors need a lunch, there will be an alternate option available.

- We are winding down- EOCs, Finals, make-up work, making up attendance time...We are almost there!

May 8th - Additional cap & gown delivery from 10:55-12:50pm in the cafeteria

May 9th - Deadline to pay current fees by cash or money order in order to receive graduation tickets

May 10th – Senior check-out process & graduation tickets distributed in the front office

May 11th – Senior’s LAST DAY & deadline to pay all outstanding fees in order to receive your diploma on graduation day

May 12th – Senior picnic

May 15th – Senior breakfast, class panoramic picture, required graduation practice & GRADUATION @ 7:00pm @ Silverstein Eye Centers Arena

FREE Physical Night @ GHS Cafeteria – May 17th from 6:00-8:30pm

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Residential Sewage is looking for a high school junior or senior that will work four to five years for their company. The opening is an office staff position starting May 2017. If you are interested in more information, stop by the counseling center.
 
Creative Blow Mold Tooling in Lee’s Summit is looking to hire. They have on the job training and summer internships available. Stop by the counseling center for information.
 
Staco Electric Construction Company is looking for an intern for administrative duties. They need someone who can work two to three hours, three to four day per week after school. The job duties include filing, and answering phones. Computer skills are needed. Additional summer hours are available if desired.  Stop by the counseling center if you are interested.
 
Grandview School District will be having a FREE physical night for any student who will be participating in athletics/activities during the 2017/2018 school year. It applies for high school and middle school students. The event will be held Wednesday May 17th, 2017 from 6:00-8:30pm in the GHS Cafeteria. Students must bring a MSHAA physical form to the event with a parent and student signature in order to receive a physical. Only physicals completed after February 1st, 2017 will be valid for the coming school year.
 
Starting April 1st, students who plan to enroll full time at a NCAA Division I or II school this fall (2017) will be able to request their final amateurism certification. Students must have a registered Certification Account and an enrollment period of fall 2017 to request. You can find more information about amateurism certification on the NCAA website.
