About Us

"If you train hard, you'll not only be hard, you'll be hard to beat." ~ Herschel Walker

Our Goal:
Our primary goal as a program is to create college football players. We feel that if the majority of our players are college prospects, all other goals will take care of themselves. There are several factors to this, first is for all of our players to be academically eligible to receive an athletic scholarship. Our minimum baseline goal for each student athlete is a GPA of 2.5 and at least an 18 ACT score. Without the academics, we can not sell a player to college programs. We must instill a work ethic and training values that colleges are looking for through rigorous off season conditioning programs and highly efficient practices to learn the necessary skills to play at the next level. We have been very successful and have many players now playing at the university and professional level.

Freshman Football Information:
Our Freshman program is very important to the future success of our varsity program; therefore we invest a lot of our coaching resources into our freshman team and hold high expectations for our freshman players. We expect our freshman players to commit to the daily summer workout sessions and to attend both team summer camps held at the high school. During the season we expect our freshman to be at practice every single day, no exceptions. Our freshman will practice on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will play their games on Wednesdays. Grades are also a must, we will do daily grade checks, if a student athlete is falling behind in their academic pursuits, we start with extra conditioning and could go as far as recommending the player to concentrate on their academics instead of football. We stress, accountability and work ethic at all levels of our program. Freshman can play at the JV and Varsity level if it is in the best interest of the player and his family.

You are considered a Freshman Football Player the day following your last day of 8th Grade so be sure to look through and print off the information throughout this Football Portal.  The summer is full of very important dates and events for all GHS Football Players, including our Freshmen Players.

There is no cost to play football at Grandview, however some individual cost to consider is the cost of football cleats, padded compression shorts and the cost of summer camps and combines.

Parents and Families, the best way you can help is to be involved in the Touchdown Club and Booster Club.
